Lidio Carraro is a family-owned Brazilian winery founded by descendants of Italian immigrants devoted to the viticulture tradition for over 5 generations.

Inspired by the search for identity and excellence in Brazilian wine and committed to producing only World-class wines, Lidio Carraro entered the market by breaking paradigms. With a Purist Philosophy based on integrity and the capturing of the wine’s essence, the entire Lidio Carraro process is carried out with minimum interference and maximum respect for the natural expression of the grapes and its origin’s terroir.

The winery, throughout its path, has stood out for its unique quality and has been recognized for its youth, boldness and vanguard.

Timeline

A project born from Lidio’s old dream which was awakened amongst wine glasses and deep conversations around the table. This involved the entire family, sparking interest in making wines with the purpose of transcending the ideal of excellence contained in each bottle: sharing and awakening life amongst people, with Passion and Authenticity.

  • First investments in wine growing

    Beginning of the researches, reconversion and planting of the first vineyards in single wire trellis system in the Vale dos Vinhedos.

  • Winery foundation and the planting of vineyards in Encruzilhada do Sul

    Year of the foundation of Lidio Carraro Boutique Winery. Initiation of geoclimatic research, soil parcelling, genetic selection and planting of the first vineyards in Encruzilhada do Sul, in Serra do Sudeste.

  • First wines and awards

    First Official Winery winemaking: Lidio Carraro Grande Vindima Merlot and Lidio Carraro Grande Vindima Assemblage (Quorum)/ “Best Merlot at X National Wine Evaluation”.

  • Launching of the first wines to the market

    First wines on the market and the selection of Lidio Carraro as the first Brazilian wine in the Duty-Frees – International Airports.

  • First export and international recognition

    Shipping of the first wines to the European market and the first international recognition: Steven Spurrier of Decanter Magazine and Le Figaro, in France.

  • Pan American Games Rio 2007

    Choosing of Lidio Carraro to make the event’s official wines: Dadivas, Elos and Grande Vindima 2007 ranges.

  • Stock Car 30 years – Official Wines and Sparkling wines

    Launching of the first sparkling wines of Dadivas range to the market.

  • Lidio Carraro in “Jancis Robinson Purple Pages”

    (Considered one of the most influential woman in the wine world) – wine evaluation in all ranges, all of them scoring over 90 points and both Lidio Carraro Elos and Lidio Carraro Grande Vindima scoring 93 points.

  • FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup and FIFA 2014 World Cup

    Official wines and sparkling wines for the events served in the VIPs and VVIPs areas: Faces ranges, the Lidio Carraro Icon wine World Champion and some wines and sparkling wines of Dadivas and Grande Vindima ranges.

  • Rio Open 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018

    Official wines and sparkling wines for the events and the Prize sparkling wine at the Podium: Dadivas Sparkling wine Brut Blanc de Blanc, wines of Faces, Agnus and Dadivas ranges.

  • Rio 2006 Olympic Games

    Official wines and sparkling wines for the event: Faces, Coletânea and PAX ranges.

  • Rock in Rio and GPVB – 2017

    Rock in Rio official wines: Faces do Brasil range. Six labels were awarded at the Brazilian Great Wine Tasting.
